SPRAY AND FUSE

Unlike other types of thermal spray, spray and fuse creates a metallurgical bond between coating and surface. This means that instead of relying on friction for coating adhesion, the technique melds the surface and coating material into one. With spray and fuse, a powdered material is sprayed onto the material and a torch is used to melt the coating and the top layer of the component, fusing them together.

 

ADVANTAGES OF SPRAY AND FUSE

  • Similar to welding and resulting bond.
  • Extremely wear and abrasion resistant.
  • Fusing creates low metal dilution.
  • Great for augers, exhaust fans, pump pistons, ball valves.
