MAGNETIC PARTICLE INSPECTION
Another nondestructive testing examination (NDE) that quickly reveals surface and shallow subsurface flaws in ferromagnetic materials—such as iron, nickel, cobalt and many of their alloys. By generating a magnetic field into materials being examined, potential flaws are revealed when the magnetic flux leaks, since air cannot support as much magnetism as metals.
