Dry Film Lube

Dry film lubricants are commonly used at Cadorath as coatings to reduce friction between surfaces in many extreme environments—including high and low temperature scenarios and high and low pressure areas where liquids and oils cannot be used.

ADVANTAGES OF DRY FILM LUBE

  • Excellent corrosion resistant properties.
  • Provides an attractive alternative to fluid lubricants for minimizing friction and preventing seizing and galling.
  • Can be used to protect materials from the smallest fasteners to massive industrial components that require coatings to reduce friction.

ORIGINS AND DEVELOPMENT

Dry film lubricants were developed in the US when other lubricants, such as grease and oil, could not be used due to temperature load, wear, migration and debris. Under these conditions, dry film lubricants remain intact and provide continuous lubrication and protection.

FUTURE APPLICATIONS

Sometimes considered a useful replacement when oil lubricants are inconsistent.
