ADHESION TESTING

Adhesion testing is often used to determine if coatings will adhere properly to the substrates to which they are applied. At Cadorath, there are several different tests used to measure the resistance of paints and other coatings from substrates, such as pull-off, cross-cut, scrape adhesion, and many others.

 

ADVANTAGES OF ADHESION TESTING

  • Provides highly accurate estimates of material adhesion.
  • Can also predict the duration of certain coatings and adhesion.

 

ORIGINS AND DEVELOPMENT

Determining adhesion quality has been around as long as coatings have been applied. Testing and accuracy has only become more sophisticated with specialized equipment and software.

 

FUTURE APPLICATIONS

An important addition to Cadorath’s suite of testing processes—especially useful when determining how coatings will wear on steel and other construction materials.
