Thickness testing is a method of performing non-destructive measurements to determine the thicknesses of solid elements—typically metals. Simply put, this technique is based on using magnetic and eddy current principles to measure paint and other coatings on base substrates.

ORIGINS AND DEVELOPMENT

Portability of testing equipment has greatly enhanced the flexibility of thickness testing, as on-site inspection and testing results are quick and accurate.
