DALIC BRUSHED CADMIUM

DALIC plating is a technique through which electro-deposits are made from electrolytes held in absorbent materials attached to portable electrodes. Cadorath has long-recognized the importance of DALIC plating—especially for portable industrial applications and in the prevention of corrosion problems.

ADVANTAGES OF DALIC BRUSHED CADMIUM

  • Portability and ease of set up are the principal advantages of this process.
  • With the DALIC method, the “plating shop” can be taken to the component, because of its portability.

ORIGINS AND DEVELOPMENT

The DALIC plating process, also known as brush plating, originated in Laboratoires DALIC in Paris, France several decades ago. Although based on conventional electroplating principles, no tanks are required and the anodes are made from inert materials such as graphite.

FUTURE APPLICATIONS

DALIC brushed cadmium is of growing industrial importance, not least of which is the prevention of corrosion problems, particularly fretting corrosion.
