Of the many phosphate coatings available, zinc and manganese phosphate coatings are the hardest, while providing unparalleled corrosion and abrasion protection. Offering continued wear resistance even after the breaking in of components, the coatings are typically applied by immersion but can also be sprayed.

  • Used in the production of bearings, bushings, fasteners, and other common industrial products.

ORIGINS AND DEVELOPMENT

Discovered by Swedish chemist Johan Gahn, manganese was originally created by superheating a combination of other elements and only until much later thought to be useful as an industrial coating.
